| Introduction | Bates Nut Farm was established in Valley Center in 1921 by Gilbert & Beatrice Bates and family where they stared the Walnut Slope Ranch. They grew walnuts on the farm and started a walnut processing plant in the late 30's. They raised 5 boys |
