| Introduction | Benjamin’s aim in life is to positively impact the lives of young people through developing mentoring relationships with them. To this end, he has undertaken a Ministry of Education scholarship with the eventual goal of becoming a school teacher. He is currently in his 3rd year of study in the Department of Physics, National University of Singapore, with a Cumulative Average Point score of 4.24 out of a maximum score of 5.
He is currently the student President of the NUS Navigators, a campus Christian students’ society with a strong history of mentoring. He has also previously taught bible studies for his church youth group on a fortnightly basis for over 2 years. He also had leadership training in the Officer Cadets’ School in the Singapore Armed Forces for approximately 4 months, before being forced out due to injury. Benjamin enjoys nature, and is proud of the fact that he can name and identify most of the common local birds. He enjoys watching nature documentaries on television, and reading science blogs and magazines. He is particularly interested in the fields of bio-mimetics and renewable energy sources, as these combine both his love for nature as well as physics. |
