Introduction | Robotic dance duo Fotostat consisted of twin brothers Glenn and Mark Robertson. Glenn started doing robotics in 1978 in the local nightclubs in Colchester Essex. He danced to such artists as Kraftwerk, Visage and David Bowie. The brothers moved to London in 1980 to form a band. In the meantime, as Fotostat they began doing robotic dancing at Xenon and Stringfellows. It was at Xenon nightclub that they were discovered and were soon featured in a Technics advert for the 315 stereo system. Shortly after that they were featured in pop videos such as Pete Townsends “Uniforms”, Queens “Calling all girls” and they even appeared as Fotostat on “The Model” by Kraftwerk on Top of the Pops in the spring of 1982. |
