About me

Introduction	I like to make things; it doesn’t matter if it’s from the ground up or using existing material. And it doesn’t matter what the project is: tile, paper, paint, walls, floors, gardening, baking, sewing, or woodworking, count me in. I’m there. I get an innate sense of well-being from working with my hands. And if I’ve got the tools, stand back and hold my glass of wine, I have an idea…. How it usually starts is from conversations with my sister, Marie. We’ll get to talking about this or that and ‘gee wouldn’t that look neat if,’ and then the next thing you know she’s gone back home and I’m left with all these great possibilities caroming around in my head trying to get out. But it’s all good, something always ends up looking better than before and I’m filled with a sense of accomplishment. The remodel on our house is over, time to earn my keep. I can’t be a trophy wife forever. Meanwhile, I’m putting my dominance over the hammer to use as a volunteer at Habitat for Humanity here in Philadelphia. That’s where I came up with the idea to name the blog, “Doll Habitat”. Okay, that and because anything with doll or house in the title was already taken by some one else.
