Why does the taste of pennies remind you of losing a tooth?
coz coins have iron content wich on exposure to air develops iron oxide film along with some acidic layer. now the blood that leaks onto our tongue (after a lost tooth leaves a gaping hole) contains iron oxide (haemoglobin) and is relatively acidic to our mouths basic content. hence we associate the sour tastes.
