Introduction I consider myself a modern day Mary Magdalene. The Lord transferred me from the domain of darkness into the kingdom of His Son about 30 years ago. I am a former Mormon and psychology graduate student whom God has set miracuously free. I agree with Spurgeon's assessment of Mary Magdalene when he said of her "Jesus 'appeared first to Mary Magdalene,' probably not only on account of her great love and persevering seeking, but because, as the context intimates (Mark 16:9), she had been a special trophy of Christ's delivering power." Like her, I too, was a victim of fearful evil; possessed of devils who caused much distress, pain and torment until Jesus Christ set me free. My situation was desperate and my only hope was faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Once set free, I went from despair to delirium, from torment to peace and from hell to heaven. I know the experience of the demoniac at the tombs related in Matthew 8 all too well. My holy hope and ambition is to be a messenger of our beloved Savior whose grace has made this once maniac into a minister of His truth. How very grateful I am for such glorious grace.
