| Introduction | Jeremy Goren founded and writes Open Veins. Previously, he spent three years as a section editor at the Latin-culture, online magazine NYRemezcla, managing and writing for both the Current Events and Film pages. His writing on immigration and related issues has appeared in Huffington Post, the Gotham Gazette and El Tiempo Latino. He has also spent time in Washington, D.C., at NPR's local-member-station WAMU 88.5FM and working in immigration law. He holds a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature, Latin American Studies and Journalism from Brandeis University and has lived in Havana, Cuba. |
