| Introduction | I am a married woman living alone in the Florida swamp. Well I am not actually alone I have my grandson with me. My husband and I came here from West Virginia and decided to stay. The weather here was a big part of that decision. Like West Virginia with no winter, only an extended fall. Also there was plenty of construction work here for Lewis. Our kids were all grown and gone it was just us. Life was good. We added cows,goats and chickens to our little farm and then our grandson Dustin came to live with us full time. Life was even better. Then the bottom fell out of the economy and there was no more construction work. Anywhere. Lewis ended up having to leave the country to find work. He is currently working in the jungles of Papua New Guinea. So that leaves Dustin and I here alone. For now. And these are our stories. |
