| Introduction | I was born in the Southern California community of Santa Barbara. My parents moved our family to the coastal city of Ventura when I was almost four years old. My schooling began in Ventura and continued there through high school with the exception of my 8th grade year. This blog centers around my 8th grade year of September 1986 to June 1987, and it was truly exceptional. My parents would take us on a most extraordinary confidence building adventure that would forever impact our lives with accomplishment. After high school, I moved back to Santa Barbara where I graduated from Westmont College and met my wife Cathleen. Fast-forward 25 years from 1987 and I find myself living in Ventura again with my best friend and wife of almost 11 years. We are about to rediscover the adventure again; to see the land and the people of the United States through adult eyes, but with the memories of a child. I invite you to travel along with us through this blog as we rediscover the journey and hope that you will be able to experience some of the wonder of this amazing country we call the United States of America. |
