| Introduction | I am an artist, a paper cut artist. I work with a scalpel and sheets of paper and a little bit of glue. I cut into paper to reveal images and words, it's like they are already there, waiting to be freed from the paper. Bodies and buildings and love and being alive are the themes that fascinate me and that I can't seem to get out of my head. I am originally from Salisbury but have been based here in Letchworth Garden City for the last seventeen years. I trained in textiles and specialised in them up til 2007, until I had a eureka moment with working with stencils. I loved the stencils more than the textile and the penny dropped and I found paper cutting. Its completely addictive. I regularly run workshops for adults and children to show them the techniques I use and to get them to make their own paper cut art. Its a wonderful media - so bold and free and quick! |
