| Introduction | I began blogging in 2008, a few months after the death of my dad. I always thought of him as strong and sheltering, much as a grand old oak tree. I can think of nothing more pleasing than to be of the same character as my dad and so the name Learning to be an Oak Tree. I am wife to Virgil, my high school sweetheart and honest to goodness very best friend. And momma to 15 year old Stephen - a sweeter spirit I've never known. I am a child of a wonderful God and strive daily to give him the glory, to reflect his love, and to keep trying though I fail often. ~Amy |
