Introduction | Cornish poet, author and painter. I read Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at Cambridge, and followed that with a training in Transpersonal Psychology. Under the Fire in the Head and The Wild Ways banners I lead an international holistic creative writing and ecopsychology/bardic programme ranging from outdoor workshops, through intensive poetry, to novel-writing based on the psychology of myth. All my work is influenced by the wild land, by Zen mindfulness, engaged Buddhist thinking, and Celtic shamanic metaphysics, as well as Transpersonal Psychology. I am passionate about the environment, and about creativity and consciousness. As a poet, I've been involved in a number of interdisciplinary and often land-based arts projects, collaborating with artists, musicians, dancers and sculptors. Recent books are Imago, a novel, and Bardo (prose poems), All the Missing Names of Love (poems). My long Dartmoor poem, River Suite, appeared, with stunning water photography by Vikky Minette, in May 2013. New novel, The Burning Ground, came out October 2013. |
