| Introduction | The youngest of a family of ten, I language and culture brokered for my parents, family friends, strangers and fellow barrio dwellers from the age of four. An English Language Learner who struggled with finding my place in both the dominant culture with the English language and my heritage culture with the Spanish language, my hope is to show bilingual/bicultural learners of all ages that having a place in both worlds is possible. |
