| Introduction | I enjoy making beaded socks. I call them Fancy Footies because when my mother in law made these for my first daughter Olivia, i would put them on her and say "my my your footies are so fancy". I had never seen anything like these socks. She told me she would stop making them for her as soon as she turned 1 yrs old. I was like...I gotta learn how to make these becuase my daughter is going to have a pair in every color until she is ten!!!! and so I learned. except I changed a few things, or should I say improved things. I use more beads and I use a totally different crochet thread. I went through trials and figured out what would work perfectly. instead of cotton crochet thread, I use nylon thread. cotton thread tends to break down in the wash and become thin. nylon does not break down and it is extremely strong. therefore no risk of them falling apart. I have never had one pair of my socks fall apart to this day!!!!! |
