| Introduction | I've been teaching English ever since I was 21 years old. That's about 42 years! I love my job! I learn something new every day, often from my students. My first husband died in 1990, and after my two older daughters married and my youngest daughter graduated from high school, I decided to go back to school. I went to Ole Miss and, after six grueling, fascinating years, I earned my Ph.D. in English. I then joined the Peace Corps and spent two years in the Philippines. Since I've been back in the U.S., I remarried, worked as a customer service rep., taught English at MDCC, and now I'm back where I started, Holmes CC in Goodman. |
