About me

Introduction Aline Wolf has long been regarded as one of the foremost interpreters of Maria Montessori's philosophy and methods. In 1961, with her husband Jerry, she founded Penn-Mont Academy, the first Montessori school to be licensed in Pennsylvania and only the third in the nation. With 9 children and 17 grandchildren, she has extensive experience implementing Montessori philosophies both in the home and the classroom. In 1966, she founded Parent Child Press, which continues to publish Ms. Wolf’s work, as well as titles from other Montessorians and educators. Her "Parents' Guide to the Montessori Classroom”, a classic in the Montessori world, has been translated into Spanish, Swedish and Chinese. Subsequent books have focused on Montessori's insights for parenting, and for teaching peace. Ms. Wolf also developed an art appreciation program for young children entitled "Child-size Masterpieces". With the publication of her pivotal book, "Nurturing the Spirit in Non-Sectarian Classrooms" she narrowed her focus to the most important aspect of all of Montessori's educational work - attaining peace by nurturing the spirit of the child.
