| Introduction | Turtle Bay is a wealthy, quaint neighborhood often described as a “small town” in a big city. I moved just south of Turtle Bay in August 2008 and wanted to discover this fashionable neighborhood that is much less well known than its surrounding neighborhoods like Gramercy or Murray Hill. Honestly, I had never heard of Turtle Bay until a month ago, but wanted to explore it more in depth after hearing about its landmarks and visiting the United Nations. Throughout this journey, I hope to discover the heart of Turtle Bay. I will be reporting on why people choose to live here and current events as they happen. I will reveal unknown facts, best kept secrets, discover new hotspots, and get a sense of the “mood” of Turtle Bay. I am excited to be on a journey through Turtle Bay—when I moved to New York City three years ago to start at NYU, I never found a neighborhood I fell in love with. Until now, I had not been as excited to discover, explore, and learn about a neighborhood as much as I am about Turtle Bay. I am naturally curious and easily excited by new discoveries. I am in my last year at New York University and a double major in Journalism and Communication Studies. |
