About me

Introduction A sociologist by training, my passion for most of my adult life was studying gender issues, criminal behavior, and wrongful conviction. For ten of those years, I held my dream job as a faculty member at a teaching-oriented college in beautiful La Crosse, Wisconsin. However, when my twins were born in 2010, my passions began to morph. Not only did my kids become the focus of my life, but I also developed other family-related interests, including documenting their lives through photography. As a working mom, it was difficult to find the time and energy for it all. By 2016, my husband and I made the decision to move our family to North Carolina. The benefits for our family have been numerous, but the move required me to leave my career behind. I continue to teach on a part-time basis, but for now, I am spending the majority of my time focusing on my family, taking advantage of the time to nurture a hobby or two, and considering where I would like my career path to lead next.
