| Introduction | For as long as I can remember, I have loved the sport of cycling, or biking as it would have been called growing up. For most of my adult life, I struggled with my weight and led a relatively sedentary lifestyle, doing mostly anaerobic exercise. In early 2009, I decided enough was enough and renewed my love of the bicycle. Soon after, I started to lose weight, which motivated me to keep up with my riding. Later in 2009, I was diagnosed with an incurable form of lymphoma, although treatable and therefore seen as a chronic disease. Late last year, after close to nine years of remission, I relapsed with the same form of lymphoma. This blog helps to deal with the ups and down of a life dealing with cancer. Cycling has changed my life in so many ways. My purpose with this blog is to share my stories and those of others, and give the reader an insight into the passion and inspiration for the bicycle and the sport. |
