| Introduction | I am spending Fall 2010 as a student-teacher, in the final stage of completing my bachelor's degree in Music Education from Iowa State University. I am teaching 8 weeks of K-5 music at an elementary school in Kansas City, then 8 weeks directing 9-12 choir at an American school in Rome, Italy. Though music education is an option, I am also strongly considering a career in student affairs. This blog will explore issues in K-12 and higher education, how education applies to the college student experience, and the process and challenges of discovering oneself in final preparation for entering "the real world", all in the context of my experiences as I student-teach outside of Iowa and outside of the United States. |
