Introduction Cori Crooks is an artist and a writer. In 2004 her work was welcomed into the public eye via a blog she wrote about her drug-addict mother, 13 yrs dead, and a whacked-out paternity search. "A Gag Reflex", written in real-time over the period of a year, had an amazing 257,136 pages read, and caught the attention of a NYC literary agent. "Sweet Charlotte's Seventh Mistake", the book release, was published by Seal Press '08/Early '09. Cori, originally setting out to translate the interactive quality of her blog, instead designed a stunning and heart wrenching work of art with full-color mixed media pages of prose, poetry, vintage nudey photographs, edgy collage, and historical documents. It instantly became a critic's favorite. :) Cori lives in the greater SF area, where she designs and makes jewelry for a living. Her work is available at museum gift shops across the grand ole U.S.A. She runs her ETSY shop, "Shrunken Cat Heads" with a wink and a smile, and usually has a table at the local indie-craft fair, hawking her miniature decorative tile creations and signed copies of her book.
