| Introduction | the RIALTO THEATRE enchants movie goers in the triangle area where an A & P grocery store first existed in 1936. in April 1942, it re-opened as the COLONY THEATRE which operated continuosly as a movie theatre including a brief period where it was a martial arts house. in the early 80's the theatre was refurbished and re-opened as THE RIALTO THEATRE which we all know and love for it's spectacular character and great quality of movie hosting. THE COLONY THEATRES now operate in north raleigh and is home to one of the most famously recognized auditoriums in town - decorated w/ 1970s carpeted walls. |
