| Introduction | John Martinek's drawings, paintings, prints, and collages have been exhibited in numerous shows both nationally and internationally. Creating art and traveling are important parts of his life and work. Drawing is the foundation of his exploration into other media. John Martinek was born in Metairie, Louisiana in 1968, and grew up in Grinnell, Iowa. He received his BA in art from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois in 1990. In 1996 he received his MFA in Printmaking and Drawing from the University of Iowa. |
