| Introduction | Currently, I serve as a Visiting Scientist at the Climate Change and Cropping Systems Laboratory under the USDA ARS Northeast Area in Beltsville, Maryland, where I contribute to cutting-edge research in sustainable farming practices in the world under the challenge of climate change. Prior to this role, I was a Professor in the Department of Plantation Management at Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, where I am currently on sabbatical leave. Beyond my professional pursuits, I believe in a balanced and purposeful life—one that harmonizes ambition with personal fulfillment. My goal is to grow as a leading researcher, educator, and climate change expert, shaping a more resilient and sustainable future for agriculture. Through my work, I strive to bridge scientific discovery with real-world applications, preparing the next generation of scholars while contributing meaningfully to the field. |
| Interests | Both the scientific understanding of climate change impacts on agriculture and the development of sustainable solutions. In addition I have few interests 1.Mentoring and student support: I believe developing strong mentoring relationships with students can foster a sense of community and support their academic and personal growth. 2. Playing drums- I believe drumming can be a fulfilling hobby with various benefits for both mental and physical well-being. 3. Community involvement: I think that volunteering or participating in community organizations can provide valuable learning experiences and help you connect with people from diverse backgrounds. |
