Introduction | I'm middle-aged--how did that happen so fast? I have the most wonderful husband, truly, and 5 kids ages 21 to 29, 4 of whom are married and one is single and adorable. I work one-on-one with a special, amazing student and spend quite a bit of time in church activities and helps. I love so many things that my family says I'm the easiest person ever to shop for! Everything seems to end up being a collection: Spode china, childhood dolls, books, old primers and children's picture books, tins, fabric for my "ideas", baskets, beach glass and shells and rocks from travels, quilts, photo albums full (72 so far), scrapbook papers, pitchers, English teacups, anything with housing motif or barns or architectural interest catches my eye. I have all the Agathe Christie's, Elizabeth George's,and Dorothy Sayers. I have old hankies, a few purses and hats, and way too much stuff but I love it all! |
Interests | Family, books, creating any number of things: church banners; event decorating; sewing; painting; collage; bulletin boards, collecting things I love, having tea or coffee with my friends. |
Favorite Movies | As soon as I say one, I will think of another. All time favorites are Sound of Music and the original Peter Pan with Mary Martin and My Fair Lady. I really liked You've Got Mail. Most distressing: Dr. Zhivago. |
Favorite Music | Love classical, bluegrass, hymns, men's quartets, ragtime, big band, swing, gospel. Happy survivor of piano lessons, french horn, tuba, bass, violin, drums, trumpet lessons, and school choir concerts. My very favorite sound is when the kids come home for a visit and they sing parts around me at church or at our piano. It thrills me! |
Favorite Books | Especially mysteries but not into overly evil or twisted or occultish. Love Dick Francis, some Grisham, the old Helen MacInnes (amazing foresight). Sadly a lot of the reading I do now isn't recreational. I love magazines, too, but I almost have to go to the beach to get caught up on them. |
