| Introduction | I qualified as a midwife in 2007 from Brighton university. I practised as a midwife for over 2 years at Brighton and Sussex University Trust Hospitals. In this time i spent 4 months working as a midwife in The Gambia, West Africa, where i trained local midwifes and worked to improve their existing maternity services. I am now about to embark on my next challenge...... I will spending four months in Gimbie, Western Ethiopia, Volunteering for Maternity Worldwide. Within a team i will be working directly with communities to improve access to high quality maternity services. Im working for a future in which all women and their babies are able to access safe and appropriate childbirth regardless of where they live. |
