Social Studies Class

| Introduction | “Project of Heart” (P.O.H.) is a hands-on, collaborative, inter-generational, inter-institutional artistic endeavour. Its purpose is to commemorate the lives of the thousands of Indigenous children who died as a result of the residential school experience. The students of Mme.Bruneau's social studies class explored the history of First Nations and it's tragic past. From the first day everyone was compelled to help, intrigued to learn and showed outstanding efforts in this unit. We met with two brave residential school survivors Cyrill and Joe, and listened to their stories firsthand. Furthermore, the class decorated tiles and smudged them. To commemorate those who lost their lives, Dr. Charles Best Secondary, Social Studies Class of 2012 put together a memorabilia of our experiences. |
