| Introduction | Foulweather Jake is a recently retired Oregonian who, having acquired both sufficient free time and insufficient common sense, spends much of his time devising complicated plans that appear perfectly reasonable until explained aloud. His dutiful wife Shannon possesses many admirable qualities, among them patience, practicality, and a remarkable willingness to accompany him on adventures despite all of the above. Together they have raised two children, accumulated an alarming number of board games, and discovered that life is generally more interesting when approached with curiosity and a sense of humor.
