| Introduction | This blog is run by Alden Residents for Responsible Growth. (AldenRRG) AldenRRG has been formed by a group of concerned Alden citizens to protect the small town way of life we have come to cherish and to further planned, appropriate growth in our community. We stayed here to raise our families because of the small town character of Alden. Others have moved here to get away from areas that allowed out-of-control development and don’t wish to see the same thing happen here. Regardless of our backgrounds and politics, we were all drawn together simply because we do not wish to see Alden diminished by irresponsible, out of scale, development. We have nothing to gain financially and simply want to keep what makes Alden a great place to come home to. New retail opportunities are welcome in Alden, and we’ll be first in line to support stores and businesses more in keeping with our small town atmosphere. This is particularly true when new development utilizes already empty plazas and buildings rather than sprawling across open green space. |
