Introduction	I am currently both an engineer and a linguist, and find that they complement each other surprisingly well. I love anything geeky, especially when it comes to knitting. I tend to blog rather sporadically, but knit constantly and compulsively. I love sci-fi, the outdoors, chocolate and peanut butter together, making pie, praying in the rain, floating low tones that undergo phonological processes, the smell of Christmas trees, pictures of the McMaster nuclear reactor, random Japanese words, and travelling to little-known places.

Do you believe that forks are evolved from spoons?

The question is not whether the spoon or the fork came first, but what unholy experimentations in genetically modified cutlery led to the rise of the sporkle (read: spoon+fork+ladle = what you use to serve spaghetti)
