| Introduction | Anand Kumar Ashodhiya—also known as Kavi Anand Shahpur—is a Hindi–Haryanvi poet, translator, and cultural commentator from Haryana, India. A former Warrant Officer of the Indian Air Force, he served for thirty-two years and was officially honoured for his contribution to Rajbhasha Hindi. He holds a postgraduate degree in English Literature from Annamalai University and writes across Hindi, Haryanvi, and English. His literary identity is deeply rooted in his ancestral village, Shahpur Turk (Sonipat, Haryana), which informs both his poetic voice and ethical sensibility. With more than 380 compositions across poetry, folk ragni, ghazal, and narrative verse, Ashodhiya is known for blending regional idiom with philosophical reflection. As a translator of his own works, he bridges Indian vernacular traditions with contemporary English readership. He currently resides in Mumbai and continues to write, translate, and publish actively. |
