Introduction Aisha, daughter of Lawrance & Sharon Johnson is a 2005 grad of UVA. After earning a BA in Psych and studying special ed., she began pursuing development work as a Peace Corps Volunteer. She served in a mid-sized village in French speaking Burkina Faso for Girls’ Education & Empowerment. In 2 yrs of service, she worked with community leaders, teachers, parents, & students to improve education of all students and increase retention of girls in school. She returned to her hometown, Henrico County, Virginia and began teaching high school in 2008; continued to support youth education as a youth leader at her church. She has traveled to Ghana with high school students from all over the US to do community service and traveled as a missionary to Haiti following the devastating earthquake. In 2011, she returned to Burkina Faso as a Peace Corps Response Volunteer for 10 months. She is now studying Social Work as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar in India. Her life mission is to work with youth, help people on her way up, explore and exchange love with the diverse people of God’s awesome creation. Read the first blog entry "Who am I?" for more info.
