| Introduction | Born in South Carolina, reared in Virginia and educated at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, the Southern Part of Heaven. After college, I remained in North Carolina to work my entire career, spanning 45 years, in community journalism as a reporter, photographer and ultimately managing editor of a twice-weekly newspaper, from which I retired at the end of 2008. I continue to live in North Carolina, for I love the state, the people and most 'specially the beaches. I make my home in a rural section of the Piedmont with my beautiful and talented wife and our truly psychotic long-haired cat. We are happy. |
