IntroductionHey, I’m Zac Fosdyck — a cyber resilience nerd, FLOSS evangelist, and perpetual student with a soft spot for scrappy solutions and wild ideas. I help people, small orgs, and community networks get their tech together without selling their souls (or their data) to Big Tech. I believe digital freedom is a birthright, not a luxury. That’s why I spend my time building secure, privacy-first systems using open source tools, teaching others how to break stuff safely, and dreaming up better ways to organize, connect, and thrive online. By day, I might be hardening a Linux box or chasing down suspicious traffic on a mirrored switch port. By night, I’m probably sketching out a weirdly hopeful governance model or making memes about the Fediverse. I see tech as a tool for regeneration—not extraction—and I’m here to prove you can be both ethical and effective. If you’re into resilient systems, radically transparent learning, or just want to chat about how to build a better digital world from your garage… we’ll probably get along just fine.
InterestsI’m endlessly curious, slightly feral, and totally obsessed with systems—human, digital, ecological. My interests span cybersecurity (especially the FLOSSy, home-lab, “build it myself or bust” kind), regenerative tech, and network resilience. I tinker with Linux boxes like they’re bonsai trees, reverse engineer malicious PDFs for fun, and run rogue networks in my basement just to see what they’ll whisper. When I’m not hardening systems or breaking them to learn, I explore decentralized governance, experiment with cooperative economic models, and dream up ways to make digital freedom accessible for everyone. I believe open source isn’t just a software choice—it’s a worldview. I’m into hacking (ethically), teaching, learning, teaching again, and building communities that care more about people than profits. You’ll find me crafting my own tools in Zig, running packet captures like other people run espresso machines, and helping small orgs punch way above their weight class with secure tech. Also: memes, mutual aid, weird niche internet cultures, and anything that puts power back in the hands of regular folks.
