| Introduction | Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and graduated from the University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras, the author of this blog is pursuing graduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a PhD Candidate in the department of Geography, majoring in regional sciences and economic development. As another individual in this complex and challenging but interesting society, José enjoys horse racing and other sports like basketball, volleyball, international soccer and Olympic games.
