IntroductionThe Kipling Awards are given each year to the best writing done by 4th to 6th grade students who reside in Windham County, Vermont. Judges for 2018: Tom Bedell, Jerry Carbone, Starr LaTronica, and Tim Weed. Judges for 2017 were: Tom Bedell; Jerry Carbone; Karen Hesse; Dede Cummings; and Tim Weed. The inspiration for these writings are the children's stories composed by British Nobel Prize winning author, Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936), who lived in his beloved home, Naulakha, located in Dummerston, Vermont, from 1892-1896. For more information on Naulakha or the Kipling Awards, contact Landmark Trust at info@landmarktrustusa.org.
