| Introduction | One day during my daily blog read, I followed a link (I'm sure of neither from nor to where) leading to a blog that cataloged old historical commercial signs on the sides of buildings. It left just enough of an impression that I wanted to steal the idea, but not enough for me to know from whom I was stealing. Regardless, the idea here is to see what I can learn about my home town from the commercial relics left in paint applied to the bricks of its old buildings. I find these signs fascinating both as expressions of graphic design and as indicators of the world that just slightly outside of our current consciousness. |
