About me

Introduction	Have been writing poetry, short stories, satire, research based articles etc since 1970-71. In addition to this I have been working towards preservation, promotion and dissemination of art and culture of Bastar region. 29 books have been published so far and 8 books on Bastar culture and oral tradition are shortly coming out from various prestigious publication houses of the country. Have made 5 short animation films (based on the folktales of Bastar, Orissa, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and M.P.) in Halbi (the local language of Bastar) with the West Highland Animation of Scotland. A documentary film is made by the South-Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur based on my research based book Dhankul Geet. Dr. Uma Ram & K.S.Ram have written a book entiltled "Folk songs, ballads and oral epics of Bastar which is basically based on my research based books. Recipient of various awards including Aanchlik Rachanakar Samman, Kavi Umesh Sharma Sahitya Samman, Pdt Sundar Lal Sharma Sahitya Samman (Chhattisgarh Rajya Alankaran), Sahitya Akademi Bhasha Samman and Verier Elvin Pratishtha Alankaran etc. Presently, working on various books based on Bastar culture etc.
