| Introduction | I am the Golf Course Superintendent at Desert Island Golf and Country Club. I have a strong interest and respect for the classic style and believe all superintendents need to preserve the architects original intent. I have been in the Desert Southwest for the past 5 years working on a new project. I was at the SilverRock Resort working on the construction and grow-in of this 500 acre resort for the City of Laquinta. SilverRock is a signature Arnold Palmer project and is one of the new venues for the Bob Hope Classic. The Classic Course was rated the Top Tour Course open to the public by Golfweek. The first of two golf courses is completed and I enjoy visiting the golf course to see the evolution of the property from the raw desert it was when I started in 2004. I am originally from Minnesota where I began my career in golf management. I spent 7 years working at The Minikahada Club est. 1898 and one of the many classic Donald Ross designs in the midwest, # 78 on the Golfweek 100 best classic list. I have 20 years of work on another classic Golden Valley Golf Club est. 1914, is a Tillinghast classic that I was managing and restoring with Ron Forse and Hartman Companies. |
