| Introduction | I am the luckiest guy you know. While my childhood was not so lucky- with my mom passing away when I was six from heart disease and soon thereafter I was hospitalized for months with rheumatic fever, my luck changed when I survived a major heart attack. I received incredible medical and cardiac care- TPA (clot buster drug), angioplasty and two stents and a few months later bi-pass surgery. Genetics and diabetes clearly predisposes one to things like heart disease. But maybe I helped my luck change by living the active life that I have since “escaping” the hospital as a kid. Today, I am more than healthy enough to ride a bike with Matt from NYC to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida to be with my father Jerry, my wife Josana, and daughter Samantha, as well as, hopefully many many people who will hear about our little adventure and just want to be part of it…maybe in person, maybe on-line or maybe seeing it on-air. Where-ever and how-ever they can join in, everyone is welcome! I am just incredibly excited to get going and share what I know is my good fortune. Like I said, show me someone luckier! |
