Introduction	The Fahari-Libertad is a student-run organization that was created on SUNY New Paltz campus in 1973 by a group of black communication majors who wanted to address the issues of students of color on campus and abroad. The publication, originally called "The Fahari," went from a newspaper format to a magazine format around the late 1990's. Later, the "Libertad" section was introduced in 2006 and later combined to the Fahari-Libertad to express more unity. Today, the publication has expanded to other media and continues to strive by sharing information to the SUNY New Paltz commuity and all over.
