Introduction	I am a landscape painter living on the coast of Maine. I work in oils and oil pastel. My studio is in my home outside of Portland but my inspiration and much of my painting content comes from my family's saltwater farm in midcoast Maine where I spend summer weekends. I received my BFA from the Maine College of Art in 1994 and BA from Bowdoin College in 1976. I have been painting full time since 2003. I use the term full time loosely as life tends to creep into my time more than I realize. Having my studio in the home is ideal for me. It's allowed painting and studio work to become part of my daily life. For me, it's the only way. I hope blogging will help me chart my progress and also serve as a respository for ideas, techniques and inspiration.

Favorite movies	Sense and Sensibility, Best in Show, Animal House ( I DID go to Bowdoin after all), Pride and Prejudice ( the BBC series and the movie),
Favorite music	Joni Mitchell, Weezer, Talking Heads, Big Band music from the 40's, Etta James, Diana Krall, movie soundtracks, Peter Gabriel
Favorite books	Any Jane Austen.
