About me

OccupationManagement Consultant
IntroductionOCCUPATIONAL BACKGROUND My senior management background spans companies providing Internet based solutions, software systems (traditional and ASP), computing and telephony systems, and outsourcing and consulting services. I have held senior executive positions in general management, marketing, sales, and customer service operations, domestic and worldwide. Following a successful career with IBM, I have been heavily involved in fast growth , turn-around, and start-up companies, such as Cullinet Software (acquired by Computer Associates), Fannie Mae Software Systems (acquired by Check Free), LDI (acquired by Sungard), and Melita International (now Aspect). I have been acknowledged for exceptional achievements in sales management, business development, re-engineering business processes, and team building. My management development training came from IBM, the Harvard Graduate School of Business, the Wharton School, and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Since holding the position as Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Melita International, I have provided management consulting services for the complete spectrum of technology companies.
InterestsAlways looking for new challenges, I was the co-founder and Executive Director of the Atlanta/Southeast Region Y2K Solution Center (The Center), a collaborative, non-profit initiative of the technology industry. I was also a member of Governor Barnes' Citizens Y2K Task Force. The Center provided a comprehensive web site (oky2k.org), and "COUNTDOWN to 2000: OKY2K", an innovative, six hour webinar over the Internet that was available to all small businesses and mid size organizations throughout the country to become OKY2K. As the nationally acknowledged spokesman, I was interviewed by numerous radio and television stations and publications, including MSNBC and the New York Times. My numerous appearances also included being MC at SBA Y2K seminars and a panelist with the President's Council for Year 2000 Conversion. In 2003, I was appointed Chair of the Marketing committee of the Technology Association of Georgia’s (TAG) Operating Committee by President Steve Jefferies. During the next few months, I created the e-Member and Ambassador programs. Steve Jefferies was then replaced by Tino Mantella as TAG’s President. As a pro-bono management/marketing consultant, I provided a marketing strategy around the innovation and entrepreneur elements of Georgia’s Technology Community. As Chair or the Marketing Committee, I was the co-creator of TAG’s highly successful Georgia Technology Summit (GTS) series and the TOP 10 Innovative Companies awards, that were largely responsible for turning around TAG’s financial condition. To expand TAG’s sphere of influence to non-technology companies, I created the GTS-- Using Technology as a Competitive Weapon and the corresponding Excalibur Award program. The Summit series continues to generate the largest audiences, sponsorships, and event revenues of any TAG program. In 2007, I was awarded TAG’s Certificate of Appreciation by Tino Mantella, TAG President, on behalf of the Georgia Technology Community,
