Introduction	Moving to the West four years ago afforded me the prime opportunity to seriously pursue my lifelong goal to paint. Plein Aire work is my passion as I can capture the beauty and the light of the landscape as well as painting out of doors. My primary medium had been watercolor however since moving to Arizona I have had the opportunity to work in oil, soft pastels and acrylics. I enjoy them all as each offers unique qualities for each new work. I am inspired and in awe of the surrounding desert landscape. It motivates me daily as the clear light hits landscape. I don’t think I will ever run out of subjects to paint. I have been a lifelong student of art. I credit my progress to painting regularly with other artists in the studio as well as plein aire groups and participating in critiques. A teacher once told me “to find a group to paint with regularly and you will improve more quickly than painting alone.” I believe that has made all the difference.
