| Introduction | The English Club was born in 1996. A group of teachers decided to start a new project which, they expected, would promote the learning process of the English language and culture as well as the interaction between teachers and students. Besides, they aimed at offering students a place where they could develop their personal qualities, build team spirit and a sense of belonging as well. From the very beginning, the English Club was a success, having more than two hundred members each year. Many of the activities have become quite memorable, involving the whole school community and even local authorities and enterprises. Last but not least, the activities students most expected were the several trips organised to England, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland, which were obviously the high moments of every year's plan. |
