LocationAbingdon, VA
IntroductionI am a 1960 graduate of Grundy High School in Grundy, Virginia, and am a retired guidance counselor/English teacher/CCYC camp manager. I attended Hiwasse college, ETSU and received my Masters Degree from Radford University in 1989. For the past nineteen years I've written a weekly column in the Virginia Mountaineer titled "Cornfields"....Retiring from that this year. Since my retirement in 2001, I have written numerous short stories and played Cat in the Hat at various schools around the region. I also drove a school bus for 35 years. Recently, I wrote a school bus driver's prayer and a whimsical poem titled "The Big Yellow Bus". In recent years I have announced football and basketball games at Grundy High School. Currently, I reside in Abingdon VA with the love of my life Sandy. I have one son named Laddy who lives in Knoxville, TN with his beautiful wife Amy, and my two-Year Old Grand Granddaughter, Ellie Grace Fields...and Shelby the wonder dog.
