| Introduction | The focus of my music to date has been acoustic chamber works for voice, strings, winds, and piano. I'm very interested in solo and choral vocal works for concert or film. Harmonically, I tend to follow the modal counterpoint practices similar to contemporary composers, including jazz and rock-influenced chords and rhythms. I feel melody is highly important, and tend toward singable rather than abstract melodic lines. I began playing violin, mostly classical, at age ten and writing poetry and music in my teens. I also sing, play piano, and am working to learn some guitar. I'm a native of Oregon's Willamette Valley now living and studying in Monmouth. I write poems and songs to share my experiences because I love the beauty and meaning of life. I'm drawn to natural living places: gardens and parks, mountains, trails, water.
