Introduction	Welcome to my blog, this is my first attempt at building a finescale 4mm layout using P4 standards. I have been planning Horrabridge for well over three years now and had originally planned the layout to finescale 00 standards. Unfortunately due to a serious of unfortunate events the layout has been either mothballed, or delayed. My intention is to build the layout without any real deadlines and is so that I ensure that I get it ‘right’! My Grandma always said that I would be an awful Architect, but a brilliant Civil Engineer, as I’m excellent at following a plan, but dreadful in creating one! I have rather high personal standards with my model making and enjoy building and looking at models which look ‘right’, regardless of scale. I have a number of friends who have heavily influenced my modelling, Brian Pearce and Geoff Forster. Brian has been my ‘P4’ tutor, and his advice is always excellent from his 35plus years of working either to 18.83mm gauge. Geoff has a beautiful EM gauge layout, Penhydd, which is a real labour of love and truly is a great model railway. Anyway I hope that you will follow my efforts as build my layout, Horrabridge.
