| Introduction | Before getting my doctorate, I earned a terminal Master’s degree in Contemplative Psychotherapy at Naropa University, a regionally accredited Buddhist University. There, I studied meditation and attended several meditation retreats with my class. I’ve since tried to read widely and attend retreats in other meditative traditions. It was always my goal to immerse myself in Eastern thought and meditation and bring what I learned into a more mainstream academic environment. In earning my doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Montana, I studied the scientific literature on mindfulness, conducting several research studies on my own. Now I’m excited to combine these interests in this blog. My goal is to provide a resource for the fascinating intersection between Eastern meditative traditions and the Western scientific method. I hope you enjoy it, too. |
