| Introduction | My name is Timothy Bruske and I am a freshman here at NIU. I’ve recently reintroduced myself to writing and have found to my delight that I still enjoy it. I have been a fan of eating for the purpose of enjoyment my entire life. I grew up in a house where we only ordered out for dinner once a month, so I am a huge proponent of home cooked meals. I’m always excited to try new cuisines, and was excited to sample some cultural foods while I served in Iraq. I view each food “genre” as equal; I’ll eat Italian and French as often as Chinese and “American”, etc. I believe this gives me an excellent ability to compare and contrast different genres and make good judgments when genres are mixed. |
